A Luxurious Journey of Love at the Fairmont Château Laurier
When thinking of where to organize a styled wedding in Ottawa, of course the Fairmont was at the top of my list! The Fairmont sponsored this styled wedding and it was an honour capturing it! Amid the styled wedding, Tara + Haley's love for one another shone through and it was a privilege to document. Thanks to the staff at the Fairmont, the experience was absolutely seamless from start to end, making any couple luck to get married at their venue!

Working with absolutely incredible vendors to make our vision come to life, I could not be happier with the wedding photos featured in this blog. Though as a wedding photographer candid shots are a cornerstone of my approach, I'm equally passionate about finding a seamless harmony among editorial imagery, candid authenticity, and the heart of photojournalism. Right from the first email with the Fairmont Château Laurier, it was clear that a luxury wedding experience was in store. Their prompt and detailed responses showed their dedication to crafting something special. As a wedding photographer, I could tell I was in for a unique journey, capturing moments that would reflect the elegance and charm of this exceptional venue. We started the day with a light breakfast and enjoyed the morning in one of the luxury Fairmont presidential suites, which offered ample space for all of the best Ottawa wedding vendors to create their magic.
At the heart of orchestrating this luxurious wedding was Jessica from Sunnyside Events. From the outset, her prompt and attentive email responses assured us that we were in the best hands. With a knack for innovative ideas and creative solutions, Jessica's input added an extra layer of sophistication to every aspect of the event. Her talent for organization and execution ensured that no detail was overlooked, resulting in a flawless celebration.
From our very first consult with Ottawa's Magpie Jewellery, we had so many beautiful wedding jewellery pieces to choose from! For Haley, we went for an incredible wrap-around pearl necklace, draping down her back. We absolutely loved this unique touch! The lovely engagement ring and wedding bands were so unique and looked beautiful thanks to Jennifer from La Vie est Belle Nails.
The talented Allison from Bombshell Hair Design was an absolute pleasure to work with and did such a great job styling Tara and Haley's hair! Klava from Klava Z Beauty is absolute talent and kept both makeup looks natural, yet very elegant, with both the hair and makeup looks tying together perfectly with the wedding gown and suit!
After our consult with the pros at Third Son, Ottawa's bespoke tailor, we opted for a dark green suit jacket, paired with their signature pocket square. Tara looked like an absolute charm and the suit tied in so well with all of the vintage, darker decor we had for the reception! Thanks to Sinders Bridal, Ottawa's premier bridal shop, Haley's dress was absolutely stunning!! We went for a simple, yet very elegant dress which featured an open back and stunning train.
Now for the decor!! Working with WEDECOR was an absolute treat, their seamless execution from design concept to reality was every wedding photographer's dream. With quick email responses, extremely unique design ideas and incredible execution, I cannot wait to work with them again in the future! The tablescape featured candelabras with black candles of varying height, gold and marble cutlery and beautiful crystal dishes.The florals were breathtaking, ranging from maroon, violet, pink and white flowers, adding to the luxurious vintage charm. The wedding menus completed the look, feautring black and white vintage brides in black and white.
And finally, the cake! Every detail was made to perfection by the incredibly talented cake designer and pastry chef, Caroline Ngo from Caroline x Sweets. Caroline created a mismatched, two-tier dark green cake, complete with gold flakes and rice paper sails. The rough texture and darker colours were the perfect combination of modern elegance and vintage luxury.
